Brother Odd


This is the next book in the Odd Thomas series. This time Odd is hidden himself away among the mountains in a small abbey. He believed that if he got away from Pico Mundo he could escape the death and tragedy. Unfortunately many wierd occurunces begin to happen including a missing brother, a strange hooded figure prowling the grounds and a morphing skeletal creature stalking one of the disabled kids at the school. Odd must find what is causing all the strange occurances and stop them before all the brothers, sisters and kids are dead.

As requested, I will be doing a synopsis/description of some of the major characters strewn throughout the story Forever Odd by Dean Koontz.

Danny Jessup- Danny Jessup was the original reason that Odd Thomas made his way to the burnt casino. Odd woke up to find Danny's dead father, Dr. Jessup, lingering in his bedroom and when he arrived at Danny's house he found Dr. Jessup dead and Danny gone. Danny was disabled, one of his legs was longer than the other and he was a hunchback, so when Odd did find him in the casino he was in serious pain.

Datura- You could easily say without a doubt that Datura was Odd's main antagonist in this book. She had found out through Danny that Odd could see the dead and believed that Odd could also do other amazing powers. She was superstitious and paranoid of death. She did many things that she believed would keep her alive including eating a banana a day and killing innocents and stealing their souls. She thought that ODd's soul would be the perfect soul to keep her alive forever but first she wanted to show him the dead. In the end of the book to kill Datura,Odd distracted her while a cougar snuck up behind her, and allowed it to kill her.

Cheval Robert and Cheval Andre- The absolute loyal followers of Datura. They listen to every order and follow her everywhere she goes.because of there formidable size and Datura's hate for Odd this makes the worthy foes for him. In the end Odd is able to kill both of them though not in the cleanest ways.
